In MF 030.1, co-host and entrepreneur John Lim interviews Jason Becker, Chief Product Officer for Allovue. Jason is a self-professed “media consumer” who loves reading, movies and especially music. As a media influence, Jason names ‘Art of Disappointment’ by the Benjamins (CD) / digital, as one that continues to surprise, grow and evolve with him over time. As a musician himself, Jason appreciates the intricacies of the songs and the poetry of the lyrics.
In MF 030.2, John interviews Jess Gartner, founder, and CEO of Allovue. Jess’s enthusiasm and love of books are very apparent as she is an avid reader with a background in theater and teaching. Notably, Jess is a “huge, huge Joan Didion fan,” proclaiming that Joan Didion is her “spirit animal” because of the way she uses words to craft stories in a “painstakingly simple way.” In particular, Jess cites Didion’s piece “On Keeping a Notebook” as one of her favorites because it expresses the idea that keeping a notebook is all about what it means to be you, based on fragments and memories at a particular point in time. We have listed Didion’s ‘Slouching Towards Bethlehem: Essays‘ | Kindle edition which includes the essay ‘On Keeping a Notebook.’
